We were unable to host the Swing Dance party this coming Saturday, June 19. Fortunately, we have lots of good live music in town and the New Orleans Sherryton is hosting a Summer Kick Off Party. Here are the details:
**9pm-1am: The New Orleans Sherryton: Potluck, wonderful wood floor (wear pristinely clean suede bottomed shoes or socks ONLY), great people, great music...
Address:6055 General Meyer Avenue, New Orleans, 12 minutes from the bridge, 15 minutes from Frenchmen Street or the Quarter, 20 minutes from Uptown or Metairie. E-mail tsherry@gnoyo.org if you need a ride or directions. Bring a dollar/car for the return trip across the bridge.
On Frenchmen street:
**6.30pm-9.30pm: Jayna Morgan and The Sazerac Sunrise Jazz Band at Balcony Music Club.
**7pm-10pm: Loose Marbles at La Maison.
All these events are FREE. However, please tip the bands and buy a drink or bring something to the potluck at the Sherryton!

We are taking a summer break.
The Joint is Jumping will resume after Labor Day.
9pm-11pm: $5/person
7.30pm-8.15pm: Intermediate-advance lindy hop class: $10 incl. party 8.15pm-9pm: Beginner Swing dance lesson: $10 incl. the party
NOTES:
- We encourage advanced dancers to stay in the beginner class to help the
newcomers get better. Invest in your future scene. These will be the people
you will end up dancing with!
